The Role

We're looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Finance team, playing a key role in supporting financial performance and commercial decision-making across some of Are Media's most important revenue streams.

Reporting to the Finance Business Manager, you'll gain broad exposure across management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, with responsibility for the full P&L of our Affiliate business. You'll also partner closely with our Advertising, Subscriptions, Memberships and Direct Marketing teams, providing meaningful financial insights that help drive business performance.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong technical accounting skills with commercial analysis and building relationships across the business. With exposure to multiple revenue streams, cost centres and full P&L management, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your commercial expertise and continue developing your career in finance.

What you'll be doing

  • Management Accounting & Reporting: Own accurate and timely month-end reporting across allocated revenue streams and cost centres, including journals, accruals, variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Commercial Analysis & Business Partnering: Build strong relationships across Advertising, Affiliate, Subscriptions, Memberships and Marketing, providing financial insights, profitability analysis and modelling to support commercial decisions, including full P&L management of the Affiliate business.

  • Financial Controls & Reconciliations: Manage balance sheet and revenue reconciliations, support advertising billing and ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, reconciliations and billing processes, improving efficiencies and strengthening financial controls.

About you

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • A degree in Accounting, CA/CPA qualification and at least 3 years' experience in management accounting or a similar finance role.

  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis skills, with advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.

  • Confidence partnering with stakeholders across different business functions, with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights.

  • A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Experience with financial planning tools such as TM1, or within the media or advertising industry, would be advantageous.
