About the role
Are Media is the home of Australia’s most-loved brands, creating immersive content and experiences across print, digital, social, video and emerging platforms. We’re looking for a Group Creative Lead to drive the visual craft and creative quality of our commercial output and lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team.
In this role, you’ll lead the execution of compelling, on-brand creative solutions that deliver both audience engagement and commercial impact. You’ll work closely with Sales, Strategy and Content teams to translate client briefs into innovative, integrated ideas across multiple channels. With a strong eye for design, storytelling and emerging trends, you’ll ensure creative excellence while building scalable frameworks, systems and processes that elevate output across the business.
You’ll also play a key leadership role - coaching and developing talent, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the team delivers high-quality work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Duties
- Lead the end-to-end creative output for advertising and branded content campaigns across Are Media's portfolio of print, digital, and social
- Collaborate with Sales and Strategy to shape proposals that win, then oversee execution through to delivery
- Mentor and direct a team of creatives, setting the standard for craft, consistency, and commercial thinking
- Champion the creative product in client and agency conversations, presenting concepts with clarity and confidence
- Lead and uphold the visual creative direction across print, digital, social and branded content
- Translate client briefs into integrated, commercially effective creative concepts
- Provide art direction on key campaigns, pitches and client work
- Ensure all creative output is on-brief, on-brand and meets quality standards
- Direct and collaborate with designers, videographers, photographers and external partners
- Develop and implement design systems, templates and frameworks to improve efficiency
- Use performance data and audience insights to inform creative decisions
- Manage workflow, prioritisation and delivery across a high-volume creative pipeline
- Foster strong collaboration across Sales, Editorial, Strategy and Production team
Skills and experience
- A strong portfolio spanning branded content, integrated campaigns, or media-owner creative; ideally including editorial-adjacent work
- Demonstrated experience leading creative teams in a media, agency, or in-house publishing environment
- Fluency across digital, social, and print formats; you understand the nuance each channel demands
- A track record of working effectively with commercial stakeholders without compromising creative integrity
- Familiarity with the Australian women's lifestyle and media landscape, and what resonates with highly engaged, loyalty-driven audiences
- Strong verbal communication skills; you can defend an idea and adapt one in equal measure
