About the role
We're looking for a commercially minded Shopping Editor to lead and grow our shopping and affiliate content across Are Media New Zealand's premium portfolio of brands.
Reporting to the NZ Head of Digital, you'll be responsible for creating engaging, high-performing shopping content that helps our audiences discover products they'll love – from beauty and fashion to home, lifestyle and gifting. You'll identify emerging trends, uncover the best buys, and produce trusted recommendations that resonate with readers while delivering strong commercial results.
You'll own the shopping content strategy and calendar, working closely with editorial, audience, SEO and commercial teams to ensure content aligns with seasonal moments, audience interests and business priorities. You'll also drive the promotion and optimisation of shopping content across our digital platforms and support opportunities across print where relevant.

Duties
- Creating shoppable content across Are Media's NZ brand portfolio, from gift guides and trend edits to product reviews and affiliate-driven features
- Managing the NZ shopping content calendar in close collaboration with editorial, digital, and commercial teams
- Growing affiliate revenue by identifying high-performing content opportunities and optimising existing product stories for conversion
- Monitoring retail trends, seasonal moments, and audience data to keep coverage relevant and commercially sound
- Optimisation of evergreen and seasonal content
- Collaborating with wider support teams to maximise traffic and conversions
- Assist in managing affiliate brand relationships
Skills and experience
- Proven editorial experience in a consumer, lifestyle, or commerce-focused publishing environment
- Demonstrated ability to write and edit product-led content that converts without losing voice or credibility
- Confidence working across multiple brands simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
- An eye for SEO and performance data, using insights to inform editorial decisions
