About the role

The Senior Manager, Digital Shopping Content + Strategy (SM) is a lead content strategy role, responsible for driving the shopping content strategy across all digital brands and verticals at Are Media. You will oversee the day-to-day content operations of the Shopping Content team, and drives omnichannel workflow and prioritisation to deliver affiliate revenue budgets via creative, data-informed and on-brand content ideation. You will be responsible for driving the shopping content plan across the vertical structure (Fashion + Beauty, Lifestyle, Homes and Entertainment), working closely with the SEO Centre of Excellence (CoE), the Head of Affiliate and the relevant Digital Managing Editors to ensure editorial cohesion but also best practise content planning to maximise potential revenue. 

Duties

  • Lead, coach and motivate a team of digital shopping editors and writers; mentoring and training, including delivering constructive feedback in order to improve performance and drive best practice.
  • Be the principal touchpoint for stakeholders seeking understanding, input and support with affiliate revenue-driving Shopping Content 
  • Develop, deliver and report on brand-specific monthly shopping content plans, in collaboration with SEO CoE and Head of Affiliate, and deliver to DMEs
  • Edit work by Shopping Content team members across the sites, as required, to ensure quality and brand values are upheld, providing feedback and support where needed
  • Cultivate a strong data-based understanding of Are’s digital brands’ audiences, and the revenue capabilities and opportunities across all verticals – using Trackonomics and Google Analytics – sharing insights in a monthly report to relevant stakeholders
  • Share editorial, audience & affiliate knowledge with the business as needed & lead by example as the head of the Shopping Content Team

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will be highly proficient at using analytic tools and data to understand audiences, merchant and affiliate network opportunities and content performance as well as to inform content planning.

  • Minimum seven years’ creating content in a digital environment   
  • Experience with content management systems, affiliate network platforms and analytic tools
  • Strong understanding and experience in optimising digital content for affiliate and shopping revenue
  • Strong content ideation, strategy and output skills
  • Strong understanding of SEO content
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with previous management experience 
  • Financial and commercial acumen; knowledge of affiliate revenue drivers for websites, social platforms and digital sales processes
  • Stakeholder management
  • Relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent
