About the role

This is an exciting role within a supportive and dynamic team, working on some of the most loved and respected fashion and beauty brands in the country. This is a 12 month parental leave contract with a view to start March 2025. 

• The Social Media Editor will report into the Head of Digital
• Key stakeholders include the Digital Managing Editor of Beauty, print editors/teams, the Head of Social, as well as commercial and affiliate teams
• This role is vital for growing the digital footprint of these exceptional editorial brands, for innovating on new content formats and commercially viable products, and for fostering greater engagement within each distinct brand's local audience. 

Duties

The specifics of the Social Media Editor's day-to-day will be ever-changing due to the fast pace of the news cycle covered by the Fashion & Beauty brands, but the duties that will remain constant include:

• Plan, create and publish content according to the social media schedule across multiple platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Facebook.
• Create engaging copy and captions for social posts using your strong written communication skills – great spelling and grammar is essential.
• Use video editing skills to create timely, on-brand and engaging packages for social multiple platforms.
• Create commercial content across the Fashion & Beauty vertical, with a key focus on video/Tik Tok as per brief.
• Execute weekly and monthly reporting to track results against KPIs.

Skills and experience

• 2 - 5 years experience in a social-focused producing role.
• A passion for social media and the appetite for creating best-in-class visuals.   
• Experience working within, or alongside, a commercial team is highly valued but not essential.
• Deep professional understanding of creating content for brands, including short-form video for Instagram Reels, Stories and Grid, and Pinterest.
• Understanding of how to reach and grow social audiences and engagement.   
• Proven experience in video editing.  
• Understanding of the importance of upholding editorial tone and style of these specific Fashion & Beauty brands, and nuanced need to appeal to Luxury-aligned audiences and commercial partners. 
• Ability to identify the latest trends and viral moments and jump on these opportunities as soon as they arise.   
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
