Senior Content Producer – Woman’s Day
Auckland-based
Are Media New Zealand
Are you a natural storyteller with a sixth sense for what gets people talking? Do you live and breathe pop culture, celebrity interviews, and breaking entertainment news—but also know the power of real stories from everyday Kiwis and the impact of inspirational lifestyle content?
This is your chance to step into one of the most exciting roles in New Zealand media.
We’re on the hunt for a Senior Content Producer to work at the heart of Woman’s Day – New Zealand’s most-read weekly magazine, and a brand that informs, entertains, and inspires more than half a million people every week across multiple platforms.
In this position, you will play a key leadership role within a dynamic and passionate editorial team, helping to shape the brand’s voice across print, digital and social platforms. You’ll work closely with the Editor to steer content strategy and champion stories that resonate—whether they come from the red carpet, the royal family, a reality TV bombshell, or an unsung local hero.
You will thrive in this role if you:
- Are a senior writer or content lead with a background in entertainment, news or lifestyle media.
- Have an instinct for content that will capture the nation—and the skills to tell it across multiple platforms.
- Can bring a fresh editorial eye, whip-smart copy, and top-tier organisational skills to every production cycle.
- Are as comfortable wrangling a Hollywood A-lister as you are spending time with a local fundraiser doing extraordinary things.
- Bring an enviable contact book and know how to build new relationships fast.
- Have a love for visual storytelling and a deep understanding of what works all platforms.
- Lead by example, work collaboratively and thrive under deadlines.
At Woman’s Day, no two days are the same. One moment you’re commissioning a celebrity exclusive, the next you’re brainstorming coverlines, managing layouts, fact-checking a heartfelt human-interest piece, breaking down health information, delivering midweek meal inspiration or helping drive engagement in the digital space.
You’ll be joining Are Media, home to some of New Zealand’s most iconic brands including The New Zealand Woman’s Weekly, The Listener, Your Home & Garden and Kia Ora. We are a diverse, innovative, and forward-thinking multi-platform publisher committed to creativity, collaboration and championing New Zealand voices.
We offer:
- A supportive and values-led team culture
- Career growth within a market-leading content company
- Structured learning and development opportunities
- Birthday and volunteer leave
- The chance to help shape the future of one of the country’s most trusted and beloved media brands
