About the role
The Retail Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth within Supermarkets and Newsagent channels.
Reporting to the Head of Channel Strategy & Optimisation, the Retail Marketing Manager will leverage market insights and consumer trends to identify opportunities to drive circulation revenue and The Market Hub sales. By fostering strong relationships with Are Direct, our retailer partners and internal teams, this position will ensure the effective execution of marketing strategies that align with business objectives and deliver profitable results.
Duties
- Develop & implement retail marketing strategies: Design and execute targeted marketing strategies for Supermarkets and Newsagent channels, including promotional programs, email campaigns, catalogue development, merchandising initiatives and in-store displays to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, traffic and revenue for Are Media brands and The Market Hub.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and retail partners: Work closely with Are Direct, Connections, merchandising team and retail partners to create cohesive marketing campaigns that align with broader business objectives. Coordinate efforts to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all retail touchpoints.
- Analyse market trends and performance metrics: Monitor market trends, consumer behaviour, and campaign performance to identify opportunities for optimisation and growth. Utilise insights to refine marketing strategies and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure campaigns deliver profitable results.
- Personal & professional development: Invest in professional development through regular learning opportunities to build on skills and knowledge.
Skills and experience
- Strong knowledge of marketing strategies and best practices specific to retail environments, particularly in Supermarkets and Newsagents.
- Ability to develop and implement effective marketing strategies that align with business objectives and drive customer engagement.
- Proven experience in managing multiple marketing projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution and adherence to budgets.
- Proficiency in analysing market trends, consumer behaviour, and campaign performance metrics to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration with internal teams and external retail partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate marketing plans, share insights, and engage with various stakeholders.
