Content Producer (Features) – that’s life! magazine
Do you live and breathe amazing real-life stories that make people gasp, laugh or cry? Or sometimes all three at the same time? Are you seeking a journalism role that is both challenging and highly rewarding, using your story sense, natural empathy and way with words to turn everyday people’s life experiences into a brilliant first-person read in print and online? Then this is the job for you.
that's life! has been Australia's biggest-selling real-life magazine for the past 31 years and we're looking for a Content Producer to create engaging stories that grow our audience, traffic and brand awareness.
You will be responsible for sourcing, interviewing and writing real life and other human-interest stories for that’s life! weekly, monthly and New Zealand editions – in print, online and across social channels and the brand’s EDM.
Your task will be chasing, securing and writing incredible on-brand, accurate and legally-sound content – ranging from gritty true crime exclusives, to moving stories of triumph over tragedy and quirky, cheeky reads that bring a smile, in the brand’s intimate and distinctive first-person style.
Duties:
- Chasing, interviewing and writing cover-worthy real life stories in the brand’s style and tone for the weekly and monthly editions
- Ensuring content is accurate, balanced and legally-sound
- Ideating, creating and uploading content across all platforms, including engaging, fun and compelling video content
- Contributing to shopping, commercial and affiliate content as required
Skills and experience you will need:
The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience as a journalist, with some experience in sharing real life content preferred.
- Solid journalism background, ideally with some experience writing real life stories
- Excellent news sense and an understanding of issues that matter to everyday Australian women
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Outstanding communication skills, highly organised, with an eye for accuracy and detail
If this sounds like you, and you’re looking for the next step in your journalism career, come join our friendly, dynamic team.
