At Are Media, you'll be in the office four days a week, with one day to work from home. 

About the role

The Accounts Payable Officer is a key part of the Sydney-based team, looking after Are Media’s Accounts Payable function for both Australia and New Zealand. The role reports into the AP AR Operations Manager, while also working alongside and supporting two other Accounts Payable Officers.

The day-to-day activity of the role works towards the overall team responsibility of paying vendors timely and accurately. This includes tasks leading up to preparing for a payment run, responding to vendor and internal enquires via email and phone, investigating discrepancies and other duties.

Duties

  • Prepare weekly EFT pay cycles for New Zealand or Australia including WTH/GST Payments, BAS Payments , Employee Contributor payments
  • Manually record Direct Debit payments 
  • Enter AU Employee Contributor spreadsheets in D365
  • Complete daily processing and verification of invoices in the automated invoice processing system, ESKER
  • Create and maintain vendor master files in D365
  • Follow-up unpaid, not received, and unapproved invoices
  • Respond to vendor inquiries
  • Other duties as required

Skills and experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable
  • Be a proactive member of the team who can help in various aspects of accounts.
  • A confident communicator and problem-solver
  • Effective time management, a high degree of accuracy and eye for detail
  • Have a sense urgency to complete tasks promptly but accurately 
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and responsibility to the function of Accounts Payable
