About the role
Are Media is on the hunt for a Technical SEO Lead to boost the visibility and performance of our iconic brands. Reporting to the Head of Audience, you’ll be the go-to SEO expert, partnering with tech, product and editorial teams to deliver best-practice site architecture, crawling and indexing that drive sustainable organic growth.
You’ll lead audits, fix complex SEO issues and influence platform improvements that enhance search performance. With 5+ years’ technical SEO experience and deep knowledge of crawl optimisation, structured data and Core Web Vitals, you’ll combine analytical know-how with practical execution to shape the SEO future of Australia’s leading media network.
Duties
- Partner with product, tech and editorial teams to implement SEO best practice across all sites
- Conduct regular technical SEO audits and deliver prioritised recommendations
- Identify and resolve crawl, indexing, and site performance issues
- Optimise site architecture, structured data and Core Web Vitals for maximum visibility
- Provide SEO input for site migrations, redesigns and new product launches
- Monitor search performance and analyse crawl and log data to identify risks or opportunities
- Stay ahead of algorithm and platform changes, sharing insights across teams
- Champion SEO excellence and continuous improvement across Are Media’s digital network
Skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in SEO with a strong technical focus
- Proven success partnering with product and development teams on scalable SEO solutions
- Deep knowledge of crawl optimisation, indexing, structured data and site architecture
- Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals, page performance and mobile-first indexing
- Proficient with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or SEMrush
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and prioritisation skills
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management experience
