About the role
We are seeking a Content Producer to create compelling real-life and human-interest content. This permanent full-time role is hands-on and story-driven, with a focus on sourcing, interviewing and writing engaging real-life content for print, digital, social and EDM platforms. You will produce accurate, legally sound and emotionally resonant stories that connect with large, highly engaged audiences.
As a Content Producer, you will play a central role in identifying strong story leads, developing them into publish-ready features, and adapting content across platforms while maintaining each brand’s distinct tone and audience expectations. The role requires strong editorial judgement, sharp storytelling instincts and the ability to manage sensitive subject matter with care.
You will be responsible for chasing and securing contributors, conducting in-depth interviews, and crafting first-person and narrative-driven stories ranging from true crime and high-impact exclusives to uplifting, quirky and emotionally powerful reads. Working to tight deadlines, you will collaborate closely with editors, designers and digital teams to ensure content is delivered efficiently and to a high editorial standard.
This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who thrives in a high-output environment and is motivated by creating stories that inform, entertain and resonate with millions of readers across Australia and beyond.
Duties
- Research, write, and produce high-quality articles, features, and digital content across multiple platforms and brand verticals
- Collaborate with editorial teams to develop content calendars, contribute to story ideation, and ensure content aligns with brand voice and audience needs
- Adapt and optimize content for various channels including websites, social media, newsletters, and print publications
- Conduct thorough research, verify information accuracy, and maintain editorial standards and compliance requirements
- Implement SEO best practices, monitor content performance metrics, and use data insights to inform future content strategies
- Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Contributing to shopping, commercial and affiliate content as required
Skills and experience
- Relevant degree in Journalism, Communications, Media or similar, with 2+ years’ experience in digital content or publishing
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, including pitching ideas, interviewing, and meeting tight deadlines
- Confident across CMS platforms, basic HTML, SEO, social media management and community engagement
- Experience creating multimedia content (video + basic editing) and using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
- Data-driven mindset, with experience using analytics tools such as Google Analytics and social media insights
- Creative, detail-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced environments
- Curious and proactive, with a natural instinct for spotting trends and story opportunities
