About the Role
This is an exciting 12-month parental leave cover opportunity to join Are Media's dynamic Auckland team as a Commercial Brand Manager, where you'll be at the forefront of driving brand partnerships and commercial growth across Are Media's diverse portfolio.
In this strategic role, you'll collaborate with some of New Zealand's most recognisable brands, developing innovative commercial solutions that resonate with diverse audiences. You’ll have the opportunity to shape brand narratives across multiple platforms — from digital to print — while working with a forward-thinking media company that values creativity, innovation and authentic storytelling in the commercial space.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Brand Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and agencies, identifying new business opportunities and commercial partnerships
- Campaign Strategy & Execution: Develop integrated commercial campaigns across Are Media's portfolio, ensuring brand alignment and audience engagement
- Revenue Generation: Meet and exceed commercial targets through strategic brand partnerships, sponsorships, and bespoke content solutions
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and audience insights to inform commercial strategy and brand positioning
- Cross-Platform Collaboration: Work closely with editorial, digital, and creative teams to deliver seamless brand experiences across all touchpoints
- Client Presentations: Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to prospective and existing brand partners
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse campaign performance metrics, providing regular reports and optimization recommendations to stakeholders
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or similar, with 3–5 years’ commercial/brand management experience (media or advertising preferred)
- Strong experience delivering integrated, multi-platform campaigns that drive revenue and meet commercial targets
- Confident communicator and presenter with strong stakeholder influence skills and analytics capability
- Highly organised with project management experience, able to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
- Desirable: NZ media experience, lifestyle/entertainment knowledge, creative problem-solving ability, and strong understanding of digital and social trends
