About the role
The IT Support Engineer is a senior technical specialist responsible for resolving complex infrastructure and systems issues that have been escalated beyond Level 1 and Level 2 support tiers. This role is the primary escalation point for on-premises and cloud infrastructure, covering Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Exchange Online, email security, AWS cloud services, and Cisco networking.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the stability, security, and performance of the organisation's hybrid IT environment, while also driving continuous improvement and mentoring junior team members.
Skills and experience
Strong history of hands-on experience in a systems administration or infrastructure engineering role.
• Demonstrated experience at L3 support level with a track record of resolving complex, multi-system incidents.
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
• Microsoft: MCSA / MCSE (Windows Server or Microsoft 365), or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
• AWS: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Cisco: CCNA (required), CCNP (highly desirable)
• ITIL Foundation (desirable)
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security certification (desirable)
• VMware vSphere / ESXi or Hyper-V administration (desirable)
