About the role
As Head of Beauty, you will define and lead the beauty content strategy across some of Australia's most influential premium media brands, including marie claire, ELLE, Beauty Crew, Beauty Heaven and Beauty Directory. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of beauty storytelling, creating best-in-class content across print, digital, social, video and emerging platforms.
Leading a small, high-performing team, you will deliver engaging, audience-first content that informs, inspires and drives growth. Leveraging strong industry relationships, you will secure exclusive editorial opportunities and develop impactful commercial partnerships that enhance both audience and brand value.
Working collaboratively with editorial, commercial and brand teams, you will play a pivotal role in expanding audience reach, driving innovation and delivering market-leading content experiences across Are Media's Luxury portfolio.
What you'll do
- Lead the beauty content strategy across the Luxury portfolio, ensuring content is engaging, innovative and aligned to each brand's editorial direction.
- Create, commission and edit premium beauty content across print, digital, social, video and emerging platforms.
- Drive a digital-first content approach, developing engaging stories across websites, social channels, video, Reels and TikTok.
- Identify emerging beauty trends and industry developments to keep content relevant, competitive and audience focused.
- Develop commercially integrated editorial concepts and work closely with advertising and partnerships teams to deliver bespoke client campaigns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with beauty brands, PR agencies and industry partners to secure exclusive content opportunities.
- Lead, mentor and develop the Luxury Beauty team, providing direction, coaching and performance support.
- Oversee content planning, workflows, contributor management and editorial quality to ensure deadlines and brand standards are consistently met.
- Represent Are Media and its Luxury brands at industry events, client presentations, launches and other brand initiatives.
- Ensure all content complies with legal, regulatory and company policies, including TGA and editorial guidelines.
What we’re looking for
- Extensive experience creating and leading premium beauty and lifestyle content across print, digital, social and video platforms.
- Proven track record building, managing and developing high-performing editorial teams.
- Expert writer, editor and content strategist with a strong understanding of audience engagement, consumer trends and the Australian media landscape.
- Commercially minded leader with experience delivering advertiser-led content and collaborating with clients, brands and commercial stakeholders.
- Well-connected beauty industry professional with exceptional stakeholder management, project leadership, innovation and attention to detail.
