The Role

Shape the visual identity of a leading lifestyle brand and bring its stories to life across every platform!

Few Australian brands carry the history, trust and cultural significance of The Australian Women’s Weekly. For more than 90 years, The Weekly has been part of Australian women’s lives. Today, it’s evolving well beyond its print heritage into a truly multi-platform brand spanning digital, social, vodcasts, memberships, food, events and more.

As Creative Director, you’ll play a defining role in what that next chapter looks and feels like. This is a significant, all-encompassing creative leadership role across a large and diverse brand ecosystem. You’ll honour what makes The Australian Women's Weekly iconic while helping shape how the brand shows up for the future; this is an opportunity to help take an extraordinary legacy and creatively define its future.

We’re open to creative leaders from beyond traditional publishing; we're really looking for someone with a genuine love for the brand, a collaborative mindset, curiosity about where it can go next and the energy to make things happen.

What you’ll be doing

  • Set the creative vision across editorial and commercial content, ensuring a distinctive and consistent visual identity across every platform.
  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary creative team, mentoring creative talent and collaborating with content and commercial teams to deliver premium work.
  • Direct high-profile shoots and develop standout creative concepts, from mood boards and visual treatments through to campaigns, working with photographers, stylists, illustrators and other creative collaborators.
  • Oversee creative production from concept to delivery, maintaining exceptional design standards while keeping projects, shoots and deadlines running smoothly.

About you

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Exceptional visual storytelling and design leadership across editorial, digital and commercial platforms.
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, with the creative judgement to translate ideas into beautifully executed work.
  • Proven experience leading creative teams and delivering large-scale projects from initial concept through to final execution.
  • Outstanding communication, organisation and collaboration skills, with a calm, solutions-focused approach and strong attention to detail.
