About the role
Sitting within the Commercial Operations team, and reporting to the Digital Commercial Product Director, the Commercial Operations Analyst is responsible for providing reporting and in-depth analysis on advertising performance data to help maximise inventory management, yield optimisation and revenue potential across the Are Media consumer group. The job also involves working on new commercial products and initiatives for the business.
The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication capabilities and a data-driven and solutions-oriented mindset.
Duties
- Deliver daily, weekly & monthly revenue reporting and analysis to Senior Management
- Measure revenue performance on print and digital advertising, programmatic sales and affiliate sales
- Provide inventory and yield reports and analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimisation
- Work with large and complex data sources
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reporting and analysis
- Expand reporting capabilities with dashboards, snapshots, data visualisation
- Analyse data and generate actionable insights
- Provide recommendations for improving reporting
- Prepare and present insights and findings to internal stakeholders, including senior management
Skills and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience required
- Experience required in an analytics role within digital advertising, media, finance, or ad tech
- Advanced knowledge and working experience using Excel, pivot tables and data from from multiple data sources
- Highly proficient in revenue reporting, interpreting data and presenting in a digestible form for wider business
- Excellent attention to detail, cross-checking and reporting accuracy is mandatory.
- Ability to plan, organise and co-ordinate activities to met deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable but not essential:
- An understanding of the digital media and broader advertising industry
- Experience creating reports with data visualisation platforms, like Power BI, and dashboard creation
- Working knowledge of CRM systems, booking platforms and analytical software
- Working understanding of SQL (or willingness to learn)
